The SEM Dispatch is an open, community-contributed publication. Articles are written by vetted practitioners and reviewed by editors before they are published. Open does not mean unchecked: we approve every contributor personally and edit lightly for clarity, accuracy and house style. The standards we hold contributions to are set out in our editorial guidelines.

We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive and revocable licence to access the Site for lawful personal and professional reference.
You must not:
- use the Site for any unlawful or fraudulent purpose;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Site, any account or any system connected to it, or otherwise breach its security;

We may suspend or close an Account that breaches these terms, or where we reasonably consider it necessary to protect the Site, our contributors or our readers.
6. Contributors and contributions
This section applies if you submit a Contribution to us. It sits alongside our editorial guidelines, and you can read more about writing for us on our contribute page.
The promises you make
When you submit a Contribution, you confirm that:
- it is your own original work;
- you have the right to submit it to us and to grant the licence below;
- it is accurate to the best of your knowledge and based on your genuine experience;
- it does not infringe anyone’s intellectual property rights, breach any duty of confidentiality, defame anyone or otherwise break the law;
- it is not recycled or AI-generated material passed off as your own work; and
- you have disclosed to us any commercial interest relevant to what you have written.
The licence you grant us
You keep the copyright in your Contribution. You grant Booked Up Media Ltd a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to copy-edit it lightly (for clarity, accuracy and house style, without changing your meaning), and to publish, reproduce, distribute, display and promote it on the Site, in the The SEM Dispatch newsletter (The Tuesday Briefing) and on our social channels. For Contributions we have published, this licence continues so that we can keep them available in our archive.
Attribution
We publish your Contribution under your byline and will not misrepresent your work as anyone else’s.
Editorial discretion
We personally review and approve every contributor, and we may edit a Contribution, decline to publish it, or remove it, at our discretion. Approval and publication are never guaranteed.
Republishing your own work
You are free to republish your Contribution elsewhere. We ask that you note it first appeared in The SEM Dispatch and link back to it where you can.
Payment
Contributions are unpaid unless we agree otherwise with you in writing.
Removing your work
You may ask us to unpublish a Contribution. We will deal with reasonable requests, subject to legal and archival limits.
7. Intellectual property
The design of the Site, the The SEM Dispatch masthead and brand, our logos, and the selection and arrangement of Content belong to us or our licensors. Copyright in each article stays with its author. You may read the Content, link to it and quote short extracts with attribution, but you must not republish a substantial part of it without our permission.
For automated and AI access to the Site, please see our content policy at /llms.txt.
8. Editorial content is not professional advice
The Content is general information and the personal views of practitioners. It is not professional, legal, financial or commercial advice, and you should not rely on it as a substitute for advice tailored to your own situation. Outcomes vary, and you act on the Content at your own risk.
Views expressed in Contributions are the authors’ own and not necessarily ours. Where a contributor has a relevant commercial interest, it is declared.

11. Our liability to you
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under the law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
Subject to that, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for any loss of profit, data, goodwill or business, or for any loss arising from your reliance on the Content.
If you are a consumer, nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.
12. Your indemnity
